  1. Keep me posted on your events. It was great to talk to you yesterday. And I would love to hear a performance on your website.

  2. Daniel Colalillo’s Scriabin recital in Nashville was nothing short of spectacular. He beautifully conveyed the tragic lyricism of the left hand pieces, op. 8 etudes and op. 11 preludes, showed his mastery of exposing multiple layers in the op. 42 studies, and showed an incredible range of dynamics and colors from the softest soft in op. 32, to the ecstatic mass of sound in the 5th sonata, a breathtaking display of his technical mastery, structural understanding and control. Every phase of Scriabin’s compositional evolution was represented, a great introduction to those who were just discovering the Russian genius. Colalillo also triumphantly played Chopin’s heroic polonaise and unveiled the dramatic narrative of the g minor ballade. He clearly loves what he is playing and has thought out every detail. Daniel Colalillo is a young artist to watch, and I look forward to future appearances in Nashville.
